A fundamental flaw in modern thinking is shortsightedness.

Why build more oil systems? It will run out. Sure, use it until
we know how to do better. Research how to do better as fast as we can.

Some part of the modern societal message must be driving us into personal
isolationism, driving us away from each other. I can't pick exactly what
part of the message this is.

Capitalism is an efficient economy, but it provides no Justice. Some other
system must provide the justice.

Nobody teaches Human Interaction. Well, maybe the Scientologists.

Sometimes i wish my roommate could meet you... on the one hand, he'd hate you for being a "goddmaned pot smokin' hippy", and laugh at you for liking macs, on the other hand, if you told him about your command of robots, he would admire your 1337ness to no end. it might cause him to spontaneously combust, which would be rather amusing (and leave me with one less roommate - but he's a nice guy - just... rather conservative).

hm, true... but he's not an LJ'er, and the effect wouldn't quite be the same... it'd be better if he saw you, your computers, and your robots all at about the same time - full visuals and stuff.
