How about an old school building in Medford? Bids start at $750,000 (surely it'll go for more, right? And then it would need lots of development to make it living spare.)
In this specific instance, where it is is great if you like middlesex fells or commuting on 28 or 93, but not so great for my bicycle commute to downtown Cambridge. Ah well, maybe we make some of those compromises to build the community we want.
This is obviously the wrong time for such an opportunity, but it's fun to think about how this could be one way such a thing could happen.
