At least 14 people came for the festivities, and I think a good time was had by all. 1.5 lb of cheese fondue was consumed and declared yummy. I have chocolate fondue leftovers that will keep me on a slow sugar high for the next couple days. A large batch of chocolate chip cookies also was consumed, and beers and wines and card games and geekery (we learned that email is the little death that brings total obliteration) and swing dancing and tickle wrestling. I definitely had a good party anyway. :-)

Then this morning at church was the last Sunday morning service I'll be attending here in SB. The UU church here has been a steady part of things I've done in SB and I've met some close friends through it and went to a lot of beard meetings and ran sound for a lot of sunday mornings. Saying goodbye to everyone this morning was good because I got to give them all the good news that I was going off to a good new city and a good new job and they all wished me well and said they'd miss me, but before that at the end of the service people were sharing things and passing around the microphone and one person got up and noted that I was going and she wished me luck and would miss me and the congregation started applauding and I started crying with a big overwhelmed grin looking around at everyone and trying to say thank-you to them all. wow. I'm still overwhelmed by the memory of it as I write this.
