I'm seriously considering this rally thing

And now I'm thinking about designing a sign to carry. In the sense that the whole system is mad and needs fixing, I could vie for either of my favorite system reforms: impartial redistricting and rankings ballot voting.

Should I:
A) Make a sign with one side each
B) all voting
C) all redistricting
D) not make a sign, signs are dumb

Sorry, what rally thing?

Either option A or a sign noting that all signs are dumb.

I could just hold up a blank sign. If anyone asks, I could tell them it's slightly telepathic and shows you the protest sign you want to see.

hey. I met you at [livejournal.com profile] spinneymoon's house after the rally and she kindly left your LJ name for me, so I've friended you. Hope you don't mind. Did you end up having a sign? Was also thinking about our ranked ballot conversation, since our Mayor's race ended up being somewhat dramatic. (The candidate who had the most first place votes ended up not winning the election, causing him to say dumb things like 'ranked choice voting is a mystery to me' and 'I don't understand how it works'.)

Hi. I didn't wind up having a sign. I couldn't find an office supply store within a walk of the national mall, so no poster board. I had the sharpies for it though.

I'm not a fan of IRV but in this case it seems to have mostly worked out ok.

I did my own processing of the Oakland Mayor votes and even when running the votes through different methods of counting it seems uncontroversial that Jean Quan should win.
